Pecos Cyber Academy student accounts are managed by PCA IT Support. The following process is from the PCA Chromebook Sign-In Guide. For student account issues, please contact PCA IT Support at ithelp@pecosca.us.
Steps 1-6 assist with a first time login on a Chromebook. Step 6-10 may be useful for frequent users.
1) Turn on your Chromebook. It may need to be plugged in prior to turning on.
From the Welcome to your Chromebook screen, click Get started.
Note: if you see a Turn on Screen Reader prompt, select Close.
2) At the "Get connected to enjoy all the new features on your Chromebook" screen, select your home wireless network. Click Next.
3) On the Wi-Fi network connection screen, enter your home network password. Click Connect.
4) You may see a “Getting the device ready…” screen.
5) Enterprise Enrollment may also run when first loading. At the Enterprise enrollment complete screen, click "Done".
6) You will need your Google Account information to sign into your Chromebook.
Your Google Account Username is your Student ID number followed by @pecosca.us e.g: 139379138@pecosca.us
Your Google Account Password is first name initial (lowercase) + last name initial (lowercase) + two-digit day of birth + three-letter birth month abbreviation (first letter capitalized) + four-digit birth year
Example Student: Ramona Quimby-Blume
Date of Birth: 12/10/2007
Password: rq10Dec2007
Note: Student credentials are also located at the bottom of the Parent Portal Setup instructions provided during the enrollment process.
7) The Sign in to your Chromebook screen pops up (states the Chromebook is managed by your school domain). Type in your school-provided Google Account Username (SID@pecosca.us) and click Next.
8) Type your Google Account Password.
9) You will see a "Please wait…" screen. This screen may take a few minutes to finish loading.
10) You may see a Control your data screen. Scroll down and click Accept and continue.
Once the desktop loads, your Chromebook is ready to use. Open Google Chrome to access Clever and all of your educational resources. If another PCA student will be using the same Chromebook, they do not need to repeat the setup process. Instead, they can simply select Add Person and sign in with their own Google account.
